Frequently given answers

Who are you guys?

We're Tidal! We have a nice mix of those inside and outside the publishing, PR and marketing worlds. We want to shake all three up a bit.

How does this all work?

You sign up with the Tidal channel that most interests you, give us some info about yourself and hook up your blog if you have one. You’re then a member of your channel’s community, able to get involved in different editorial events.

Who can join?

Anyone with a passion and an email address! We're looking for contributors from across all topics: fashion & beauty, music, home & garden,... you name it. We want to enable people from all parts of the world and walks of life: urban, rural, young & old. You just need to stay involved. We’ll be having exclusive Q&As with industry insiders, plus calls from editors for community submissions which means you! We recommend those who’d like to be considered for featured contributor status hook up their blog so we can get a feel for your editorial talent.

Do I get paid?

Nope. But you are building your personal brand, getting seen across the web, and getting new visitors to your site. There's sometimes opportunities for sample, prizes and event. In the future we may partner with others to help find creative ways for you to generate new revenue.

Can I become a member of more than one community?

Of course! We have multiple channels in different areas, so it makes sense if your interests align with more than one community. But be sure to keep in mind that each channel has a different visions. For instance Sony’s PopMarket Backstage focuses on the vinyl industry and what goes into the production of music recordings, and SeatGeek Soundboard is more about new artists and live events. So if you get involved in more than one community that seems similar, don’t forget how different they really are!

You guys don’t have a community I’m interested in. How can Tidal help me?

We’re creating new communities all the time, and if your interests aren’t covered by our current sites, sign up for our newsletter to receive notifications about new launches you might want to be a part of. Feel free to send us your suggestions too-- we’d love to hear what types of communities would make you want to get involved.
